After tomorrow, registering for the Car2Go program will include a fee and perhaps yearly fees to renew.
Registering NOW exempts you from any registration or yearly fees (grandfathered in basically).
There are no charges ever, unless you actually USE one of the cars.
That is currently 35 cents per minute of use.
This is an amazing and simple public transportation program and I encourage you to register now for free, even if you never use it.
The member card you get in the mail enables you to use any of the growing number of Car2Go cars around town here and there, drive where you need to go (parking meters are FREE if it's a Car2Go car), then sign off, lock and leave it, being charged only for the time you used it.

This qigong form is inspired by the sense that beauty and love can awaken one’s consciousness.  The form has a nourishing quality, as if to sustain one during a long quest or journey.  And all of us, in some aspect, are on a common quest:  a search for happiness.  This form is practiced while sitting cross-legged on the floor or seated in a chair.
About the instructor:  Cobi Bentley is a senior certified Sheng Zhen Qigong teacher who has been studying weekly with Grandmaster Li Junfeng since 2002. Cobi has also studied yoga and aikido for many years and has been working as a licensed massage therapist in Austin, Texas since 1997, where he is also a continuing education provider. Cobi’s inspiring teaching style comes through as joy and dedication in the classroom. He also serves on the board of the Sheng Zhen Society of the Americas as the director of education.

Awakening the Soul is a simple qigong form consisting of eight movements done while sitting in a chair. Awakening the Soul can also be described as distilling the soul—clarifying it.  And with the renewed clarity comes a deeper understanding of one’s life.  It is like breathing new life into the body; starting again with an open heart.  Zhongtian Yiqi is a non-moving qigong. From a place of relaxation and focus, one guides the qi along the central channel.  As one progresses, the act of guiding one's qi slowly transforms into the qi guiding the mind.  This is a calming and nourishing experience that brings one a sense of peace and connection.

Heart Tribe Snuggle Party!!!

When: Sat., July 24, 2010 Time: 7:00pm-10:00pm Location: (private home South Austin)

What's a Snuggle??

A snuggle is a hug, just longer and in a more comfortable position.

The LoveTribe/HeartTribe-Austin Snuggle party will provide an opportunity for SAFE, supportive, positive touch. This will be a facilitated activity where you will have the opportunity to explore consensual touch (and lots of snuggling!) with multiple partners during the evening.

The evening will start with snacks and a chance to get to know each other. There will be an opening circle to explain the ground-rules. There will also be some sort of game/exercise to practice boundaries, saying yes, and saying no. Then there will be opportunities for snuggling, massage circles, and other tender, supportive, compassionate touch. This is a NON-SEXUAL event, but filled with plenty of hugs and affection. All participation is on a CONSENSUAL basis - say yes when you are ready, say no thank-you when appropriate.

Clothes on, shoes off. Bring / wear something comfortable. A top and bottom must stay on at all times.

This event will be gender / preference balanced, so an RSVP will be required. We can allow no more than 20 participants. A waiting list will be established to match up singles. Couples will be welcomed for RSVP purposes, and may stay together for the evening, but will be encouraged to participate with others (its only snuggling!). Participants will be notified and sent directions when they are moved from the RSVP list to the guest list.

PLEASE BRING:

* A snack luck finger food - something to share and nibble.

* Donations of $5-15 to go toward future HeartTribe events.

How about sticking an announcement about upcoming BC dances to the first page of announcements, and modifying the post about BC being inactive to reflect the lastest developments.
